Songs for Eleonor, banda integrada por Karen Ruíz (voz y letras) y Andrés Almeida (musicalización y producción), se formó en la ciudad de México a finales de 2005. Fausto Palma (guitarra) se unió al grupo en el 2007.
La música de Songs for Eleonor se basa en la experimentación electrónica y en el desarrollo mutuo de sentimientos y emociones. SFE intenta mantener una postura fiel a su gusto musical y a sus diversas influencias.
Su primer disco fue lanzado en diciembre del 2008 con el apoyo de su disquera Discos Tormento.  En la actualidad se encuentran trabajando en su segunda producción discográfica. En este nuevo proyecto buscan enfocarse en la inclusión de instrumentos en vivo, alejándose así de lo puramente digital, explorando un sonido más orgánico; a pesar de que su nuevo material proyecta una nueva fuerza rockera y bailable, conservan aún, la esencia del sonido original.
Songs For Eleonor ha compartido escenario con bandas como: Mercury Rev, Ulrich Snauss, Circlesquare, Tujiko Noriko, y Natalia LaFourcade.
Han presentado su proyecto en el Festival Mutek, en el 6to Festival de Música Diego River, al igual que en la edición 2009 del Festival SXSW en Austin, TX.

Songs for Eleonor, formed in Mexico City in 2005 as an act of pure luck and good timing. Comprised of Karen Ruiz (vocals and lyrics) and Andrés Almeida (music composition and production). Guitarist Fausto Palma, joined the band In 2007. Together, they have been producing through a sincere interaction of taste and sensibility.
The music of Songs for Eleonor is based on electronic experimentation as well as on a mutual development of feelings and emotions. SFE tries to remain faithful to both their musical taste and their diverse influences.
Songs For Eleonor’s debut album was released in December of 2008 by their label DiscosTormento.
Currently they are working on their second album. In this new production they are looking to focus on including more live instruments, distancing themselves from the all digital/electronic based composition in order to explore a more pure and organic sound. Although their new compositions are charged with more danceable and rock elements, their sound still maintains the essence of their original material.
They have shared stages with bands like: Mercury Rev, Ulrich Snauss, Circlesquare, Tujiko Noriko, and Natalia Lafourcade.
They have also presented their project at the Mutek Festival, the 6th edition of the Diego Rivera Music Festival, as well as the 2009 SXSW Festival in Austin, TX.
